What the German market does well
German-registered aircraft (D-...) typically come with complete logbooks, documented AD compliance and long-term maintenance relationships. That paperwork discipline is worth real money at resale and reduces pre-buy surprises.
The used ultralight market is Europe's deepest: Germany's 600 kg class rules created a large fleet of modern, well-equipped machines from Flight Design, Comco Ikarus and others.
Costs to plan for
Landing and approach fees are higher than in France or Italy, and noise-certificate class affects what you pay. An older, louder aircraft costs more per landing at many German fields.
Insurance through German brokers is competitive for common types. Hangarage around Munich, Frankfurt and Hamburg is expensive; rural East German fields can be a bargain.
